Dear Patients & Families
UPDATED 20th March 2020 – CARA ORTHODONTICS RESPONSE PROCESS TO COVID-19
Today I have had to make a very difficult decision to close my practice for the next two weeks.
Even though the South African Dental Association (SADA) has not prescribed closure of our dental practices, I have made this decision personally due to the growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 situation, to keep safety a priority for everyone – you, your families and my staff.
We are therefore closing our offices to all appointments except emergencies from 20 March 2020 to 6 April 2020, and possibly longer if everyone’s safety requires.
Please note that an emergency is defined as pain that is not cured by over the counter medication, unstoppable bleeding, blunt force trauma, or infection.
Thankfully, true emergencies are rare in an orthodontic office. Loose brackets while a nuisance, are not an emergency. Please be mindful of the difference in coming weeks.
If you or your child is experiencing an emergency please call 083 792 8989.
You should also email us at sharad@caraortho.co.za. We can usually make recommendations to address the issue without you needing to leave your house. Please do not come to the office without a scheduled appointment.
We will be providing updates on @caraorthodontics on Facebook, Instagram and our website.
The landscape involving the COVID-19 pandemic is evolving and changing rapidly at this time. We will continue to update our media platforms with relevant information for the families in our practice as developments occur, so please check frequently for updates. We are diligently working to contact everyone to re-schedule appointments.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may create and appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented and difficult time. We are here to serve you and we are confident this is the best course of action given the current situation. Thank you for all of the support and trust that you have placed in us over the years and we can’t wait to see your ‘Smiles Forever’ when this is over.
Please take care of yourself and family. Stay at home, do not leave unless absolutely necessary. Be safe, and we will get through these times more quickly if we are all diligent in social distancing.
Blessings,
DR SHARAD CARA
